What is World Laughter Day?

Every year, the whole world celebrates “World Laughter Day” to share happiness, on the first Sunday of May. In this year 2020, it will celebrate on Sunday, 3rd May.
First World Laughter Day
On 11 January 1998, the First World Laughter Day was celebrated in Mumbai, India. Dr. Madan Kataria created World Laughter Day and became the Laughter Yoga movement’s founder of the world. The movement itself was organized by Dr. Madan. After that, laughter day went straight into the heart of people all over the world.
Aim of Dr. Madan’s Laughter Movement
Dr. Madan got the motivation by the hypothesis about facial feedback, which predicates that the facial demonstration of any person can have a deep effect on people’s feelings and emotions. Dr. Kataria worked on that hypothesis and brought that ideology among people all around the world by arranging laughter day. So, with the aim of worldwide wakefulness of fellowship and kinship through laughter, Dr. Madan took the start of the Laughter Yoga movement.
Guinness Book of World record
The first World Laughter Day gathering which held in the world other than India was named “Happy-Demic”. In 2000, it was held at City Hall Square in Copenhagen which is the capital of Denmark.
The gathering included more than 10,000 people. People together laughed in that gathering, which was the largest in the world and people bonded in a brotherly way there and later, the event took its place into the Guinness Book of World records.
